Build a browser game for it. You get about 1 month per round; this one closes 31 August 2026. Any engine.
Submit a link to your hosted game (itch.io, Netlify, GitHub Pages…). It comes straight to SlowDen for review.
Selected games may be featured on the SlowDen homepage, plus a shoutout across SlowDen's socials.
The five challenges on the menu
🗝️ Ten Rooms· Design A complete game across ten hand-made rooms. To count: Ten distinct hand-made rooms, and a proper ending screen.
🎲 One Good Run· Roguelike A run-based game you can lose and want to replay. To count: Permadeath, 3+ enemy types, 5+ upgrades that meaningfully change a run.
⚔️ Three Bosses· Combat Three bosses, each with real patterns and phases. To count: 3 bosses, each with 2+ phases and readable, learnable attacks.
🏕️ Hold the Night· Survival Gather by day, defend what you built by night. To count: A repeating day/night cycle with escalating waves, and building that affects survival.
🧠 Twenty Levels· Puzzle One mechanic, twenty levels, saved progress. To count: 20 levels from one core mechanic, plus level select and saved progress.
Who it's for
Anyone who wants to finish something. These prompts ask for a complete small game rather than a weekend experiment — ten rooms, three bosses, twenty levels — so give yourself the month. You do not need to be experienced, but you should expect to build a real, finished thing. Any engine, any team size, solo is fine.
Rewards (honest)
Selected games get a homepage feature on SlowDen plus a social shoutout. That's it — no guaranteed traffic, downloads, revenue or cash prizes, and being selected is never guaranteed. Slow Cook is about making something and getting it seen.
The rules
Your game must run in a browser and be your own work.
No copied games or stolen art/sound — credit any free assets you use.
Keep it friendly and safe for all ages.
Submit a link to your hosted game (itch.io, Netlify, GitHub Pages…).
You do not have to enter Slow Cook to be on SlowDen. If you already have a finished browser game — made whenever, for whatever reason — send it through the general game submission form instead. Same review by a person, no challenge required.
