SlowDen lists games it did not make. Partner games come from studios through a distribution partner, and community games come from the developers who submitted them. Every listing carries a credit to whoever made it, because attribution on this site is mandatory rather than optional. If something here is on the site when it should not be, we want to know, and we act quickly.
This distinction determines what we can actually do about a complaint, so it is worth stating precisely.
Where a game is not ours to remove, we will remove the listing and, where we hold a contact address for the submitter, tell them why.
Send a notice to slowden.official@gmail.com with the subject line beginning COPYRIGHT. Include the following, which are the things we genuinely need in order to act without guessing:
A notice that is short but complete will be acted on faster than a long one that omits the URL.
We aim to acknowledge a complete notice within a few business days. Where the complaint is clear on its face — you are the named developer of a game somebody else submitted, or the artwork is plainly yours — the listing comes down first and the correspondence happens afterwards. We take the view that the cost of removing a listing wrongly for a few days is much smaller than the cost of leaving an infringing one up while a discussion runs.
Where we hold a contact address for whoever submitted the material, we tell them the listing was removed and why, and give them the chance to respond.
If your listing was removed and you believe that was a mistake, reply to the message you received, or write to the same address with the subject line beginning COUNTER. Tell us which listing was removed, why you have the right to publish it, and how we can reach you.
If the material was removed in error it goes back up. If the matter is genuinely contested between two parties, we will say so plainly and keep the listing down until they resolve it between themselves. SlowDen is not equipped to adjudicate a competing ownership claim, and pretending otherwise would serve nobody.
A source that repeatedly submits work belonging to other people will have its submissions declined. This is not a formal strike system with counters and appeals, because a catalogue of this size does not need one; it is simply a decision a person makes when a pattern becomes evident.
Game titles, studio names and logos appearing on SlowDen are used to identify the games they belong to. No endorsement or association is claimed. If you hold a mark and believe its use here creates confusion, write to the same address with the subject line beginning TRADEMARK, identifying the mark, its registration if it has one, and the page concerned.
A takedown notice is a serious statement. Sending one about material you do not own, or in order to remove a competitor, may carry legal consequences for you and will end our willingness to act quickly on anything else you send.
