Relaxing browser games: colour, sort, match, or just potter about

Twenty-two free relaxing browser games: colouring, sorting, mahjong, word puzzles and small worlds to wander. What each asks of you, and who made it.

Some evenings you want a game that asks for nothing. No reflexes, no streak to protect, no timer you did not choose. Just something to do with your hands while your head settles. These are the games on SlowDen built for that.

We did not pick these by feel. Every game here calls itself relaxing, calm, cozy, soothing or peaceful in its own listing, and we read each one to make sure that was the point of the game rather than a passing word. Eleven of the 22 were submitted directly by the developers who made them.

Colour it in, sort it out

The calmest loop there is: a mess, and the slow pleasure of putting it right.

Tiles, words and quiet logic

Puzzles you can take at your own pace. Where there is a timer, it is optional.

Small worlds to potter about in

Nothing to win, or nothing in a hurry. You are mostly just there.

Picking one for the mood you are in

If you want your hands busy and your mind empty, start with colouring or sorting. If you want a little thinking without pressure, the tile and word puzzles fit, and most of them let you leave mid-board. If you would rather wander than solve, the small worlds are the ones to open, and Rail Island or Talewyn Harbor can fill a whole evening if you let them.

Every game here is free, runs in a browser tab, and credits the person or studio who made it. More in Puzzle and on the developer-made games shelf. Made a calm game yourself? Submit it.
