Straight to it. The whole category is at slowden.com/games/puzzle/. If you want the short version: four Mahjong games, six hidden-object games, three word games, a run of sorting and colour-matching puzzles, and a few merge games. Every one credits the studio that made it.
Mahjong solitaire is the one people come back to, so there are four takes on it. Mahjong Classic by Igrunka Games is the straight version. Mahjong Unlimited by RAD BROTHERS is built for long sessions. Mahjong Lines by Lunvo Studio changes the layout rules, and Mahjong Puzzle: Tile Match by Orange B leans toward tile-matching.
If you have never played: you clear pairs of matching tiles, but only tiles with a free left or right edge. That single rule is the whole game, and it is why it survives.
Six games where you are handed a cluttered scene and a list. Hidden Object: Clues and Mysteries, Hidden Objects: Island Secrets and Hidden Object: My Hotel are all by DRA. Hidden Objects: Island is by Mirra Games, Mystery of the Old House by CarrotHood, and Find the Frog by stHashirama.
These are the most mouse-friendly games in the category and the least demanding of reflexes. They are the ones to open when you want something to do with your hands and nothing to do with pressure.
The genre that took over phone screens, playable here without the phone. Nuts Puzzle: Sort By Color by Orange B and Screw Match by yzy are the nuts-and-bolts kind. Screw Sort 3D by Mobicone and Hexa Master 3D: Sort Puzzle by Bravestars move it into three dimensions. Good Sort Master: Triple Match by Sergey Tikhonov is the triple-match version, and Tap 3D Wood Block Away by Playmarketing OU is the block-removal one.
Numicolor by medoborodyj is the outlier and worth a click — colour-by-number, closer to something to relax into than a puzzle to beat.
Word Finder and Word Cross are both by Anna Inc; Word Search Hidden Words is by Drivix Games. Between them you get the three standard shapes: find words in a grid, build them across a crossword, and hunt them in a wordsearch.
These are the ones that work best on a shared screen, because anyone watching can join in without touching the keyboard.
Fruit Merge: Juicy Drop Game by Bravestars is the drop-and-combine kind. Merge World by Inlogic Software adds crafting and building on top. Block Blast 2048 by Dmitry FTD crosses block-clearing with 2048’s doubling numbers.
Then a few that sit on their own: Vega Mix 2: Adventure by PE Fulidi Tatyana is match-3 with a story attached, Yarn Fever! Unravel Puzzle by Bravestars is an untangling puzzle, Arrow Exit Puzzle by Bravestars is a logic-route puzzle, and Favorite Puzzles by RAD BROTHERS is jigsaws.
Two classics round it out: Solitaire Crime Stories by Rainbow Games, which wraps solitaire in a case to solve, and Chess Online Multiplayer by Smartberry.
