Draw it badly enough and the AI still has to guess

By Liza · SlowDen · Published 23 September 2026

Artbitrator is a drawing game where the thing you are trying to convince is not a person. You get a prompt, you draw it, and an AI tries to name what you drew. Play it alone, or with up to 12 people and live voice, which is where it stops being a drawing game and starts being a room full of people shouting at a computer.

What it is: turn a prompt into a picture and race to make the AI guess it. Who made it: Adam. What it costs: nothing, and there is no account. Play Artbitrator.

Swapping the human guesser for a machine changes the whole game

In Pictionary the pressure comes from a person who is on your side and wants you to succeed. They meet you halfway, read your intent, forgive a bad circle. An image classifier will not. It has no idea what you meant and no interest in being generous.

That turns the skill sideways. You stop drawing the thing and start drawing the features the model is looking for — the silhouette, the one unmistakable detail, the bit that separates this object from every neighbouring object. It is a genuinely different puzzle from drawing well, and the failures are specific rather than vague, which is what makes them funny.

We are describing the design here, not reviewing it. SlowDen does not score games and counts no plays, so we have no basis for telling you it is good — only for telling you what it is.

The voice channel is the part people will remember

Up to twelve players with live voice reactions is an unusual amount of infrastructure for a free browser game, and it is doing real work: a machine confidently mislabelling your drawing is only funny if someone else hears it happen. Alone it is a puzzle. With a room it is a party game.

It also runs in a tab, which is the whole reason a game like this can exist — no install, no lobby software, nobody being told to download something before the joke starts.

Where it sits on SlowDen

Artbitrator is one of 95 games currently on SlowDen's community shelf — games sent in by the people who made them, as opposed to the partner catalogue. We did not make it, fund it, commission it or endorse it. It is listed because someone submitted it and it works.

If you build browser games, that shelf is open: submit your own game. For another one-person project from the same shelf, we wrote about a three-year ball python genetics demo.

Play it: Artbitrator by Adam — free, in your browser, no download and no account.
